Am
Freitag den 14.7. war Feiertag, französischer Nationaltag, und die meisten
Restaurants und Geschäfte waren geschlossen... trotzdem fanden wir einen
Espresso - zwar sacketeuer aber gut und an einem schönen Ort: Dem Meridien
Hotel. Am Sonntag hatte ausserdem die Pension Armelle offen und ebenfalls gar
kein schlechter Espresso! Ansonsten genoss ich meinen doppelten Espresso in
meinem Lieblingscafé: Patisserie/Café Hibiscus.
Öffnungszeiten!
On Friday the 14th of July was a public holiday, French National Day, and most all of the restaurants and shops were closed... nevertheless we found an espresso - although ridiculously expensive but in a nice place: The Meridien Hotel. On Sundays also Pension Armelle is open and had no bad espresso at all! For the rest I enjoyed my double espresso at my favorite café: Patisserie / Café Hibiscus.

Das
Frühstück kauften wir jeden Tag frisch ein: Baguettes, Brot, Käse (grosse
Auswahl an französischen Käsen hier auf Tahiti), Tomaten, Butter, Nutella... Oder
ich bereitete mit reifen Bananen Porridge zu. Zudem begannen wir (Vaimano nur
den ersten Tag, so schrecklich schmeckt das Getränk!) eine Noni-Kur... wofür
das genau gut sein weiss ich noch nicht aber wir hoffen doch, dass es sich in 2
Wochen sehen lässt?
For breakfast we bought fresh every day: baguettes, bread, cheese (there is a big selection of French cheeses here on Tahiti), tomatoes, butter, nutella... Or I prepared porridge with mature bananas. In addition, we started (Vaimano only the first day, that awfully the drink tastes!) a Noni cure... what fore it exactly food is, I have no clue but hopefully we discover in 2 weeks time?

In Tahiti
ist es bedeutend heisser als auf den Cook Islands letzte Woche, manchmal sogar zu
heiss für den Strand... So richtete ich mich mal häuslich ein...
In Tahiti it is much hotter than on the Cook Islands last week, sometimes it was even too hot for the beach... So I started to make myself at home...

Bei Vini
im Carrefour Plaza beschaffte ich eine Vini WiFi Box mit 1 Gigabyte
Datenguthaben, die nach 2 e-mails und 2 Whatsapp schon verbraucht schienen...
das bedeutete nochmals einen Gang nach Papeete um meine Beschwerde
einzureichen.
At Vini at the Carrefour Plaza I bought a Vini WiFi Box with 1 gigabyte of data credits, which seemed to be already consumed after 2 e-mails and 2 Whatsapps... that meant another run to Papeete to submit my complaint.

Natürlich
ging ich auch meine üblichen Runden Joggen und Schwimmen, meist am Plage Vaiava,
ca. 1 km entfernt wo ich den Eco Car Mietwagen parkierte und barfuss und im
Bikini den langen Sandstrand dreimal abjoggte. Bei dieser Gelegenheit traf ich
auch meinen kleinen Sportsfreund Rama wieder, der mir zeigte, was Ausdauer
ist!!! : ))
Of course I also did my usual rounds of jogging and swimming, mostly at Plage Vaiava, approx. 1 km away where I parked my Eco Car rental car and ran barefoot and bikinied three times the long sandy beach. On this occasion I also remet my little sports friend Rama, who showed me what endurance is!!! : ))

Abends haben
wir meist selber kochen und waren sehr kreativ, mit dem was wir im Garten
hatten: Taro, Maniok, Bananen, Auberginen, Ingwer und kauften ein was uns
fehlte. Vaimano baute einen Grill - die Bananen und der gekochter Taro legen
wir zum Fisch oder Fleisch!

In the evenings we usually cook at home and were
very creative with what we had in the garden: taro, yucca, bananas, eggplant,
ginger and bought what needed. Vaimano built a barbecue – and we put also the
bananas and the cooked taro on it with our fish or meat!
